The zone is allowed to cool and a loose sensor plug is ruled out before the sensor, the coil assembly or the board is blamed. Leave the zone off until the glass and electronics have cooled, then switch the zone back on. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does F1 on my Bosch mean the countertop is damaged? No. The zone shut off before the countertop could be harmed. Let it cool and use it again; only a repeat under normal use needs a technician. ### What usually sets off F1 on a Bosch induction zone? Heating an empty or nearly empty pan at full power is the classic cause. A zone that trips F1 with a pan of water on medium is a different story and worth a visit. ### Why does Bosch show F6 on some zones instead of F1? Bosch lists F1 and F6 in one entry with one meaning: the zone overheated and switched off to protect the work surface. The steps are the same for either code.
