F2 says the control electronics, not the glass, got too warm and the zone they feed was turned off. On a Bosch gas cooktop or rangetop the same F2 means the ignition electronics are too hot, so automatic lighting stops working for a while. Bosch cooktop display · also shown as E7015, E8207 What to do when F2 shows on the cooktop ### Kind of code Temperature and overheat sensors A sensor under the glass or on a board reported a reading the control rejected, or heat climbing past the safe limit — often after an empty pan was left on a zone. The zone is allowed to cool and a loose sensor plug is ruled out before the sensor, the coil assembly or the board is blamed. A top that keeps getting hotter is switched off at the breaker first. ### Usually leads to Induction board and coil repair Induction zones that stop sensing pans, cut out, buzz or show codes, traced to the power boards, the coils, their sensors and the links to the controls. ### Shows up as Cooktop Element Not Heating A coil stays black, a radiant ring under the glass never glows, or a zone warms so weakly that a pot of water will not boil. ### Make Bosch A German maker whose US site lists gas and induction cooktops for building into the counter. ### Source Bosch cooktop and rangetop error codes (US support) Bosch lists F2 for electric and induction cooktops, and for gas cooktops and rangetops when automatic ignition stops. Wait for the electronics to cool, then touch any key; the zone can be used again once the code clears. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Bosch cooktop show F2 only in summer or during long cooking? The electronics need air from below. Long sessions on high, a warm kitchen or a crowded drawer under the cooktop all push them toward the limit that sets F2. ### My Bosch gas cooktop shows F2 and will not spark. What now? Bosch says to turn the burners off or run them at the lowest setting until the electronics cool. Once the code clears, ignition should work again. ### Are E7015 and E8207 the same message as F2 on a Bosch induction cooktop? Bosch lists F2, E7015 and E8207 together on its induction models.
