C1 on a Dacor Modernist induction cooktop means the top sensor is reading shorted. It is the partner of C0: the same sensor, failing the other way. Dacor cooktop display What to do when C1 shows on the cooktop ### Kind of code Temperature and overheat sensors A sensor under the glass or on a board reported a reading the control rejected, or heat climbing past the safe limit — often after an empty pan was left on a zone. The zone is allowed to cool and a loose sensor plug is ruled out before the sensor, the coil assembly or the board is blamed. Switch the cooktop off, then restart it. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How is C1 different from C0 on a Dacor cooktop? Both concern the top sensor. C0 is an open reading and C1 is a shorted one; the repair path is similar. ### Could a spill under the glass cause C1? Liquid that reaches the wiring can short a sensor circuit. A technician checks for that before replacing the sensor. ### Why does a Dacor Modernist induction cooktop stop with C1 when the glass is not hot?
