ER06 on a Hestan Smart Burner is the catch-all: any problem not listed elsewhere in Hestan's table shows as ER06, and the cooking cycle stops. Hestan cooktop display What to do when ER06 shows on the cooktop ### Kind of code Boards and communication The touch board and the power board under the glass lost track of each other, or one failed its own start-up check. A power dip, a ribbon or harness pulled loose when the top was fitted, or moisture from a boil-over is ruled out before a board is replaced, and a cooktop that keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker. ### Usually leads to Touch control repair Glass touch keys and sliders that ignore a finger, start zones by themselves or stay locked, traced to the keys, the control board or the lock setting. ### Shows up as Cooktop Burner Won't Light The igniter clicks but the gas never catches, the burner lights only after several tries, or nothing happens at all when the knob is turned. ### Make Hestan A California maker of pro-style gas cooking, with rangetops for the home kitchen. ### Source Hestan KRT and KRTS rangetop use and care manual, Smart Burner error codes Hestan KRTS smart rangetop, Smart Burner only; the KRTS is not in Hestan's 2026 indoor catalog. Turn the burner off. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What does ER06 mean on a Hestan rangetop? It covers any Smart Burner problem that the other codes do not. A technician has to find the cause. ### Can I use the other burners with ER06? The code concerns the Smart Burner; the standard burners have their own ignition. Book a visit for the Smart Burner. ### Is ER06 on a Hestan KRTS smart rangetop tied to one listed cause? Hestan uses ER06 for any Smart Burner problem not described elsewhere in its table, and its only instruction is to contact service. The cause has to be found by testing on a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Hestan smart rangetop showing ER06 | CooktopRepair.center](https://cooktoprepair.center/error-codes/hestan-er06/)** **[Book a visit with CooktopRepair.center](https://cooktoprepair.center/schedule/)**
