Keys and lights react as usual, but no heat is produced until the setting is cleared. Thermador cooktop display What to do when dE shows on the cooktop ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A state the cooktop was put in, or one it picked deliberately — a child lock, a demo mode that lights the keys but heats nothing, a residual-heat letter over a zone that is still warm, a prompt that no pan has been found. Nothing has broken and no part is called for. ### Usually leads to No repair Turn the circuit breaker for the cooktop off for 30 seconds, restore it, and touch any control within three minutes. ### Shows up as Cooktop Element Not Heating A coil stays black, a radiant ring under the glass never glows, or a zone warms so weakly that a pot of water will not boil. ### Make Thermador A BSH-owned luxury brand that lists gas, electric and induction cooktops alongside pro-style rangetops. ### Source Thermador induction cooktop error codes (US support) Thermador lists dE on both its induction and its electric cooktop pages. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Thermador's own guidance for dE on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn the circuit breaker for the cooktop off for 30 seconds, restore it, and touch any control within three minutes. 02 Have someone stand at the cooktop while the breaker is restored so a control can be touched well inside the three minutes. 03 If the cooktop still shows dE, book a visit. ### Cleared? The cooktop came right without a new part. If the same message returns while a zone or burner is on, or the top shuts itself down again mid-meal, treat it as a fresh problem and book it. ### What not to do dE is not a sign that the induction generator or a radiant element has failed. It is a showroom setting that holds the heat back until it is cleared. ## What you may notice with it. The cooktop problems dE tends to arrive with. Turn the circuit breaker for the cooktop off for 30 seconds, restore it, and touch any control within three minutes. ### Why does my Thermador induction cooktop light up but never heat? If dE is on the display, the demo setting is holding the power back. A breaker reset followed by a touch on the panel within three minutes is Thermador's fix. ### Do I need a technician to leave demo mode on a Thermador? Usually not. Only when the reset does not clear dE is a visit worth booking. ### Does the Thermador electric cooktop list dE as well as the induction models? Thermador lists dE on both its induction and its electric cooktop pages as the demo setting. On the induction page the clearing step is a 30-second breaker reset followed by a touch on any control within three minutes. If that does not clear it on your model, book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador cooktop stuck on dE | CooktopRepair.center](https://cooktoprepair.center/error-codes/thermador-de/)** **[Book a visit with CooktopRepair.center](https://cooktoprepair.center/schedule/)**
