The zone is allowed to cool and a loose sensor plug is ruled out before the sensor, the coil assembly or the board is blamed. Turn the zone off, move the pan and let the cooktop cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why did my ZLINE cooktop show E1 after a pan boiled dry? An empty pan lets the glass heat far more than usual, and E1 stops the zone. Let it cool and restart. ### Could E1 on a ZLINE cooktop come from a bad sensor?
