Bertazzoni induction cooktop
showing ER03

ER03 is a whole-cooktop code: something is lying on the touch interface, usually a boil-over or a pan pushed onto the control strip.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for ER03 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Move any pan off the control area and wipe the glass over the keys completely dry.

02

Keep pans on the cooking zones and well back from the control strip, so nothing overhangs the keys when you start cooking again.

03

Switch the cooktop back on; if ER03 returns with the controls clean and dry, book a visit so the touch interface can be tested.

Still there?

It usually turns into touch control repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

ER03 is not a coil or power-board report. The cooktop is reacting to what is sitting on its keys, so the cooking zones themselves are not what it is complaining about.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems ER03 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

Questions
about ER03.

Can I clear ER03 myself?
Move any pan off the control area and wipe the glass over the keys completely dry. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why did my Bertazzoni cooktop show ER03 right after a pot boiled over?
Spilled water on the control strip reads as a finger held on the keys. Once the glass over the controls is dry, the cooktop can be switched on again as normal.
Can a pan handle resting on the controls cause ER03?
Yes. Bertazzoni names pans on the user interface as a cause, so a large pan that overhangs the control area can trigger it. Move the pan to a zone that keeps it clear of the keys.
Does ER03 on a Bertazzoni PE304T or PE365T cooktop stop only one zone?
No, because Bertazzoni's manual says codes beginning with ER cover the entire cooktop, so every zone switches off together. The shutdown comes once the interface has sensed contact for about 10 seconds.

Still showing ER03?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
