Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 252-4077

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for L on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Repeat the lock sequence from the manual to turn the child lock off.

02

Make sure no pan or cloth covers the zone displays while you try the unlock sequence, because it starts with a three-second press on one of them.

03

If the L will not go away, book a visit so the touch interface can be checked.

Cleared?

The cooktop came right without a new part. If the same message returns while a zone or burner is on, or the top shuts itself down again mid-meal, treat it as a fresh problem and book it.

What not to do

L is not a sign that the cooktop has failed or lost power. The controls are locked on purpose.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems L tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A state the cooktop was put in, or one it picked deliberately — a child lock, a demo mode that lights the keys but heats nothing, a residual-heat letter over a zone that is still warm, a prompt that no pan has been found. Nothing has broken and no part is called for.

Questions
about L.

Can I clear L myself?
Repeat the lock sequence from the manual to turn the child lock off.
How do I turn off the L on my Bertazzoni cooktop?
Use the same sequence that set it: hold a zone display for three seconds, then slide from 0 to 9 within ten seconds. The lock then clears.
Is the L child lock the same as the keypad lock on a Bertazzoni cooktop?
No. The keypad lock is meant for use during cooking, to stop settings being changed by accident, while the child lock with its L keeps the cooktop from being used at all. Each has its own steps in the manual.
Why do I have to slide from 0 to 9 to clear the L on a Bertazzoni TFT cooktop?
Bertazzoni uses one sequence to switch the child lock both on and off: press a zone display for three seconds, then slide from 0 to 9. The slide has to follow within ten seconds of the press, so a slow second step leaves the L in place.
