Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Frigidaire's own guidance for HE on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Keep hands and utensils off that zone until HE goes out.

02

You can turn the zone on again while HE is lit; the message is only a warning.

03

Move a heavy pan off that zone onto a trivet so the glass under it can cool.

Cleared?

The cooktop came right without a new part. If the same message returns while a zone or burner is on, or the top shuts itself down again mid-meal, treat it as a fresh problem and book it.

What not to do

HE is not an error. If a real problem occurs on the left zones, Frigidaire shows C0 instead, and it takes over the display.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems HE tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A state the cooktop was put in, or one it picked deliberately — a child lock, a demo mode that lights the keys but heats nothing, a residual-heat letter over a zone that is still warm, a prompt that no pan has been found. Nothing has broken and no part is called for.

In Frigidaire's own words

This message appears on the digital display when the cooktop is still too hot to touch.

Questions
about HE.

Can I clear HE myself?
Keep hands and utensils off that zone until HE goes out.
How long will HE stay on my Frigidaire Professional cooktop?
Until the glass above that zone cools. A heavy pan left in place keeps it warm longer.
Why is HE on when induction does not heat the glass?
The pan heats the glass by contact, so the surface stays hot after cooking.
Does HE on a Frigidaire Professional knob display mean the coil is still on?
No. The manual says HE appears when the cooktop is still too hot to touch, and the coil can be off. You may turn that zone on again while HE is lit.

Still showing HE?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
