Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 252-4077

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bosch's own guidance for F2 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Wait for the electronics to cool, then touch any key; the zone can be used again once the code clears.

02

Keep drawer contents at least ¾ inch (20 mm) below the fan inlet, as the Bosch NIT8661UC manual asks.

03

Check the space below the cooktop: a drawer packed against the underside can starve the cooling fan. If F2 keeps returning, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into induction board and coil repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F2 is not a pan-detection message and not a burner that is out of gas. It is about heat inside the unit.

What you may
notice with it.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. Bosch lists F2 for electric and induction cooktops, and for gas cooktops and rangetops when automatic ignition stops. On induction models it shares a row with E7015 and E8207.

Questions
about F2.

Can I clear F2 myself?
Wait for the electronics to cool, then touch any key; the zone can be used again once the code clears. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Bosch cooktop show F2 only in summer or during long cooking?
The electronics need air from below. Long sessions on high, a warm kitchen or a crowded drawer under the cooktop all push them toward the limit that sets F2.
My Bosch gas cooktop shows F2 and will not spark. What now?
Bosch says to turn the burners off or run them at the lowest setting until the electronics cool. Once the code clears, ignition should work again.
Are E7015 and E8207 the same message as F2 on a Bosch induction cooktop?
Bosch lists F2, E7015 and E8207 together on its induction models. All three report that the electronics overheated and the zone they feed was switched off. The cool-down and touch-a-key steps apply to each.

Still showing F2?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
