What not to do

E1 does not say a coil or pan is overheating. It is about the temperature of the air in the cooktop body.

Questions
about E1.

Can I clear E1 myself?
Switch the zones off and give the cooktop time to cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Wolf induction cooktop show E1 after a long boil?
Long high-power cooking warms the air inside the cooktop, and E1 is the control stopping before the electronics get too hot. Let it cool and restart; frequent E1s point to airflow under the cooktop.
Does E1 on a Wolf CT cooktop mean the fan is broken?
Not by itself. Wolf lists the cause as high ambient temperature, which a weak fan, a blocked vent or a warm cabinet can all produce, so the cause is found on site.
Where does a Wolf CT induction cooktop measure the heat behind E1?
E1 comes from the ambient temperature the electronics measure inside the cooktop body, not from the glass or the pan. Wolf says to wait for the unit to cool, and the code should not stay once it has.
