What H
actually means.
H is the hot surface indicator on Frigidaire's touch-control induction cooktops. It comes on after a zone is turned off and stays until the zone has cooled.

What to do when H shows on the cooktopKind of codeMode, not a failure
A state the cooktop was put in, or one it picked deliberately — a child lock, a demo mode that lights the keys but heats nothing, a residual-heat letter over a zone that is still warm, a prompt that no pan has been found. Nothing has broken and no part is called for.
Usually leads toNo repair
Do not touch or wipe that zone until the H disappears.
Shows up asCooktop Hot Surface Light Stays On
The hot surface light or residual heat indicator stays lit long after the glass has cooled, or it never comes on at all.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Frigidaire's own guidance for H on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Do not touch or wipe that zone until the H disappears.
Keep children away from the cooktop until every H has gone out.
Set nothing plastic or paper on a zone while its H is lit.
Cleared?
The cooktop came right without a new part. If the same message returns while a zone or burner is on, or the top shuts itself down again mid-meal, treat it as a fresh problem and book it.
What not to do
H is not an error code. It means the glass over that zone has not yet cooled to a safe temperature.
What you may
notice with it.
The cooktop problems H tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.
