What FA
actually means.
On a Viking Designer electric cooktop, FA is listed as a key error. The control checks its keys constantly, and when one misbehaves it switches every element off and shows FA in the timer window. Viking lists FC, FJ and FU with the same key error wording.

A key on the glass was held down too long, pressed with nothing there, or stopped answering altogether. Water, a spill or a pan resting on the key strip is ruled out first, then the touch board and its ribbon cable. If a zone keeps heating while the keys are dead, switch the cooktop off at the breaker.

Cut the power at the breaker for a minute, restore it and try the keys again.
