Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 252-4077

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Whirlpool's own guidance for F2 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Take the pans off and turn the cooking area off.

02

Give the glass time to cool, then try the area again.

03

If F2 stays after the glass is cool, switch the breaker off for one minute and back on; if it keeps returning, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into induction board and coil repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F2 is not a report that the element failed. The warning is about heat still in the glass, so waiting usually settles it.

What you may
notice with it.

Questions
about F2.

Can I clear F2 myself?
Take the pans off and turn the cooking area off. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does F2 come back the moment I restart my Whirlpool cooktop?
Whirlpool explains that a quick return of F2 means the cooktop is still too hot. Leave the area off with the pan removed for longer before trying again.
Should I book a visit for F2 on a cold cooktop?
Yes, if F2 shows on glass that has sat cold and a one-minute breaker reset does not clear it. At that point the heat reading itself is suspect, and a technician should check it.
Should the pan stay on the Whirlpool zone while F2 clears?
Lift the pan away, as Whirlpool's steps begin with removing the pans and switching the area off; the code only goes away once that surface cooking area has cooled.
