Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 252-4077

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Gaggenau's own guidance for F5 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Move the pan away from the controls; if the zone stopped, wait a few seconds and touch any control.

02

Rest hot lids on a trivet or the counter rather than beside the control area.

03

If F5 shows with the control area empty and cool, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into touch control repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F5 is not a broken control and not a pan-detection message. It is triggered by hot cookware sitting close to the controls.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems F5 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

Questions
about F5.

Can I clear F5 myself?
Move the pan away from the controls; if the zone stopped, wait a few seconds and touch any control. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does F5 appear when I rest a lid near the controls?
A hot lid or pan edge near the control area heats the electronics beneath it. Keep hot items clear of that strip.
Does F5 need a reset at the breaker?
No. Move the cookware and touch a control.
Does F5 on a Gaggenau always switch the zone off?
No. With the heat level still showing, F5 is a warning and the zone keeps heating. With only a tone, the zone has already switched off to protect the electronics.

Still showing F5?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
