01

Restart the cooktop with the POWER key.

02

If F1 continues, disconnect power for more than 30 seconds, then restart.

03

Book a visit if it does not clear.

Still there?

It usually turns into touch control repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F1 is unrelated to cookware or spills. It is inside the control.

Questions
about F1.

Can I clear F1 myself?
Restart the cooktop with the POWER key. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What is the EEPROM on my Dacor cooktop?
It is a memory chip on the control board that holds settings. F1 means the control lost contact with it.
Could a power surge cause F1?
A surge or outage can disturb the control. If a reset clears F1 for good, no part is needed.
Why does a Dacor Modernist induction cooktop stop when F1 appears?
The control relies on the EEPROM for its stored settings, and F1 says it could not reach that memory. Rather than run without them, it stops and waits for a restart.

Still showing F1?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
