Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 252-4077

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Smeg's own guidance for H on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Keep hands and children away from that zone until the H goes out.

02

Do not wipe the zone or set anything heat-sensitive on it until the H goes out.

03

If the H stays lit on a cooktop that has been off and cold for a long time, book a visit.

Cleared?

The cooktop came right without a new part. If the same message returns while a zone or burner is on, or the top shuts itself down again mid-meal, treat it as a fresh problem and book it.

What not to do

H is not a warning that something is wrong. It is a safety reminder about hot glass.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems H tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A state the cooktop was put in, or one it picked deliberately — a child lock, a demo mode that lights the keys but heats nothing, a residual-heat letter over a zone that is still warm, a prompt that no pan has been found. Nothing has broken and no part is called for.

In Smeg's own words

symbol will appear on the display. The symbol will disappear when the temperature drops below 140°F (60°C).

Questions
about H.

Can I clear H myself?
Keep hands and children away from that zone until the H goes out.
How long does the H stay on a Smeg induction cooktop?
Until the glass under that zone falls below 140 °F. After long cooking at high power that can take a while, which is normal.
Why does H show on a Smeg zone I never used?
Heat spreads through the glass from a busy neighboring zone. Once the whole top cools, every H should clear.
Is the H on a Smeg SIMU induction cooktop a sign the zone is still heating?
No, the H appears only after the zone has been switched off, and it stays while the glass above it remains hot. It goes out on its own once that spot falls below 140 °F (60 °C).

Still showing H?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
