What H
actually means.
H or h is the residual heat indicator. It stays on until the zone has cooled; uppercase H means hotter than lowercase h.

What to do when H shows on the cooktopKind of codeMode, not a failure
A state the cooktop was put in, or one it picked deliberately — a child lock, a demo mode that lights the keys but heats nothing, a residual-heat letter over a zone that is still warm, a prompt that no pan has been found. Nothing has broken and no part is called for.
Usually leads toNo repair
Keep hands and items off the zone until the indicator goes out.
Shows up asCooktop Hot Surface Light Stays On
The hot surface light or residual heat indicator stays lit long after the glass has cooled, or it never comes on at all.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for H on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Keep hands and items off the zone until the indicator goes out.
Wait for H to change to h and then go out before cleaning the glass.
Move a hot pan onto a trivet if you need that part of the glass to cool.
Cleared?
The cooktop came right without a new part. If the same message returns while a zone or burner is on, or the top shuts itself down again mid-meal, treat it as a fresh problem and book it.
What not to do
H is not an error code. It only means the zone is still hot after cooking.
What you may
notice with it.
The cooktop problems H tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.
