Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ZLINE's own guidance for E3 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the cooktop off at the breaker.

02

If other things in the home are acting oddly too, the supply itself may be the issue; have it checked before using the cooktop.

03

If E3 returns after a power cycle, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into induction board and coil repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E3 is not a heat or pan problem, and cooling the cooktop will not clear it. It does not point to a broken pan sensor either; the reading is about the voltage coming into the zone.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems E3 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E3.

Can I clear E3 myself?
Switch the cooktop off at the breaker. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What should I do first when my ZLINE cooktop shows E3?
Turn it off at the breaker. High supply voltage is an electrical concern, so have the supply confirmed before cooking again.
Can a storm cause E3 on a ZLINE cooktop?
A voltage surge is one way a supply can read high. Power-cycle once; if E3 keeps coming back, book a visit.
Should I power-cycle a ZLINE FCIND cooktop more than once for E3?
ZLINE's remedy is to confirm the power supply is normal and then power-cycle the unit. Doing it once, with the supply confirmed, is enough to tell whether the code clears. Repeated resets while the voltage is still high are not a fix, so book a visit if E3 returns.

Still showing E3?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
