ZLINE cooktops,
specifically.

ZLINE sells RC drop-in gas cooktops, some with brass burners, two induction cooktop families (the older RCIND and the FCIND with anti-scratch glass), and gas and induction rangetops in its Classic, Legacy and Paramount lines. Each of its induction products prints its own code table, so the same letters can mean different things from one ZLINE model to the next.

The ZLINE lineup

What is particular
to ZLINE.

ZLINE's cooking surfaces split into RC drop-in gas cooktops, RCIND and FCIND induction cooktops, and Classic, Legacy and Paramount rangetops, including the SINRT induction rangetop and DuoPro gas models. The model code on the label decides which manual and code table apply.

Three induction code tables

The FCIND cooktop, the older RCIND cooktop and the SINRT induction rangetop each have their own list. On an FCIND, E2 is an overheated power transistor; on an RCIND, E2 is supply voltage that is too low. Read the model on the label before reading the code.

Paramount burners relight themselves

ZLINE's Paramount SRT gas rangetops use electric ignition with automatic re-ignition, so a burner blown out by a draft sparks and relights while gas is flowing. Every burner sparks when one knob is pushed in, which ZLINE calls normal.

Brass darkens on purpose

ZLINE offers brass burners on many cooktops and rangetops and says they oxidize over time into a deep patina. The color change is not damage; a technician looks at flame shape, blocked ports and the spark tip instead.

Knobs on the induction rangetop

The SINRT induction rangetop is run from knobs, and if a knob malfunctions or disconnects for more than 10 seconds while cooking, that zone switches off. A zone that cuts out mid-cook can be a knob problem rather than a coil or board.

Parts

Igniters, burner heads and induction boards differ between these families, and Autograph Edition models add their own knobs and trim. Parts for older induction families may need to be ordered after the first visit.

Repair or replace

Most ZLINE cooktop and rangetop problems, from a spark tip or burner head to a sensor or induction board, are repairable. Replacement is worth weighing when an older induction top shows repeated power-board codes along with damaged glass.

Questions about
ZLINE cooktops.

Is E2 the same on every ZLINE induction cooktop?
No. On the FCIND it points to an overheated power transistor and ZLINE says to let the cooktop cool and restart it, while on the older RCIND, E2 (listed with E3) means the supply voltage is too low. Check the model label first.
My ZLINE rangetop igniters click but the burner will not light. What should I check?
ZLINE lists a gas shut-off valve left in the OFF position, and wet, dirty or misaligned burner parts. Make sure the caps sit flat and the parts are dry; if the valve is open and the burner still will not light, book a visit. If you smell gas, leave and call the gas utility from outside.
Why do my ZLINE brass burners look darker than when new?
ZLINE says brass burners naturally oxidize into a deep brass patina and that the process is part of what makes them resist corrosion. The color alone is no reason for a repair; uneven or yellow flames are a separate matter worth a visit.
Why does a zone on my ZLINE induction rangetop shut off by itself?
If its knob malfunctions or loses connection for more than 10 seconds, the SINRT switches that zone off. If the zone cuts out often, book a visit so the knob and the boards can be checked.
