Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ZLINE's own guidance for E2 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the cooktop off and let it cool, then restart it.

02

Make sure the space under the cooktop is not blocked.

03

If E2 keeps returning in ordinary use, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into induction board and coil repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

On the older RCIND, E2 means low supply voltage instead. Check the model before reading on.

Questions
about E2.

Can I clear E2 myself?
Turn the cooktop off and let it cool, then restart it. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my ZLINE FCIND cooktop show E2 on long boils?
Hours at high power heat the IGBT, and E2 stops the zone to protect it. Lower the power or give it a rest; frequent E2 in normal use deserves a visit.
Is E2 the same on the ZLINE RCIND?
No. On the RCIND, E2 is listed with E3 as supply voltage that is too low.
What does the IGBT do on a ZLINE FCIND induction cooktop?
It is the power switch that feeds current to the coil, and it warms up the longer the zone runs at high power. E2 stops the zone when that switch reads too hot, and cooling lets it restart.

Still showing E2?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
