Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 252-4077

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ZLINE's own guidance for E/5 on its cooktops. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the rangetop off.

02

Book a visit so the sensor can be reseated or replaced.

03

Keep the zone with E/5 unused until the visit, since the rangetop cannot read that coil's temperature.

Still there?

It usually turns into induction board and coil repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E/5 is not the E/1 overheating code. The sensor has moved, not the coil overheated.

What you may
notice with it.

The cooktop problems E/5 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the cooktop before anyone is booked.

ZLINE prints these codes with a slash (F/1, E/5); the same manual also lists E/1 to E/4 for overheating and supply voltage.

Questions
about E/5.

Can I clear E/5 myself?
Switch the rangetop off. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can a ZLINE rangetop sensor move out of place?
ZLINE lists exactly that as the cause of E/5. It is reseated or replaced from inside the rangetop.
Is it safe to cook on other zones with E/5 showing?
The rangetop cannot read that coil's temperature. Book a visit rather than working around it.
What does NTC mean in the ZLINE E/5 description?
It is the type of temperature sensor fitted at the coil. ZLINE's E/5 line says that sensor is out of position or disconnected, and the fix is to reposition or replace it.

Still showing E/5?

Book with the code copied exactly, the full model number, and whether there is any smell of gas or burning — with a code in hand, that is where the diagnosis starts.
