What is particular
to Thermador.

Thermador sells 30- and 36-inch gas cooktops, 30- and 36-inch Freedom, Liberty and Heritage induction cooktops, and 30- to 48-inch professional rangetops, some with a griddle. Codes on its support pages are split by induction and electric cooktops.

Star-shaped burners

Thermador's gas cooktops and rangetops use a star-shaped burner, raised on a pedestal on current models. The shape spreads the ports out, so a clogged point on the star shows as a gap in the flame.

A thermostatic griddle

Rangetops with a griddle use a 12-inch coated griddle that is controlled by a thermostat. A griddle that runs too hot or never reaches heat points to the thermostat circuit rather than the gas burners.

A clip-on sensor with its own codes

Some Thermador induction cooktops work with a wireless cooking sensor, and codes E8204 to E8206 describe its battery, link or a defect. Those codes do not mean the cooktop failed.

Feature-level codes

F0 means MoveMode would not start and F9 means the extended Flex Zone would not switch on, while the other zones keep working. Knowing that saves a visit from turning into a full diagnosis of a cooktop that mostly works.

Parts

Induction generators, touch controls and rangetop valves and igniters are ordered by the model number from the rating plate. Pedestal burner parts and grates are model-family specific.

Repair or replace

Rangetops and large induction cooktops are built into custom cabinetry, so repairing them is usually the better choice. Replacement comes up when an older induction unit needs both a generator and a new glass top.

Can I use my Thermador gas cooktop on the Sabbath?
Thermador says its gas cooktops are Star-K certified and may be used as Sabbath compliant appliances.
Why is only part of my Thermador star burner lit?
Food or cleaner in the ports along one point of the star blocks that part of the flame. A careful cleaning comes first, then a visit if it stays uneven.
What battery does the Thermador wireless cooking sensor use?
Thermador names a 3V CR2032 coin cell, and E8204 is the low-battery warning.
Does F9 mean my Thermador induction cooktop is broken?
No. The extended Flex Zone did not switch on, but the other zones still work. Book a visit if it keeps happening.
